What are your opinions on chipping a 1.8t with 115k on the clock, it's had a full service history, uses no oil atall. Been looked after.

I was wondering if much is likely to break with a light chipping, something like 30bhp?

 

Heard of lots of people chipping with higher mileage and no problems.

 

I chipped at around 100,000. No problems, I just wish I'd have done it sooner!

 

I chipped at like 106k with no probs at all.

 

Just be aware than chipping a car will put more extra on parts that are already 100K old or more. So thinks may break - not likely but you never know. If you are approaching 120K miles, I would do your timing belt again before chipping (depending on when you had it done last of course).

 

Cool might look into getting it done then, the turbo seems in good nick and seals aren't leaking into the intercooler piping. Did cambelt about 5k ago brrman but good advice for sure.

How long do the clutches tend to last on average? I know it depends alot on the way its been driven but as a rough guide anybody?

Hell I going to be installing the K04 soon and I have 140 kilometers on mine

 

might want to get through the break-in period first clconversion. LOL 140 kilometers is a brand new car.
