Black b5, so would the GIAC chip work for a 1.8 T quattro? And how much would it cost to replace the stock dv valve, and what would i replace it with? Also, how much do you think everthing will end up costing after im finished with this process and how much hors-power should i end up adding after the process is complete? I'm sorry i have so many questions. I know practically nothing about Audis' and car parts, but im trying. I just want my car to be sweet and way fast! Thanks,

-Bryan
The GIAC works very well on the 1.8t. The chip costs about 500 bucks new - often enough you can buy used ones for cheaper.
I love mine - the difference from stock is very substantial. Replace the stock DV with a TT DV (710N) - costs 30 bucks at ECSTuning.com. You will end up with close to 200 HP after chipping.

Hmm about that dealer chip again but this is crazy I do know a few VW/Audi dealers in Toronto that are Revo dealers and they can flash you ECU right there in about 15 minutes
hahah, this guy's probably just some dumbass rich kid who paid a grand for revo software because it came from a dealership.

so you had the chip before you replace the DV and there wasn't much difference, and then you replaced the DV with the stock TT one and it helped alot?

Do you think if i replaced my stock A4 DV with the TT DV before i even got it chipped it would make a difference?

unless your factory valve is weak and leaking off boost pressure

im am not 100% sure exactly where the valve redirects the pressure to but it takes remaining boost when you shift or deaccel. and redirects it back into the system rather than blowing it off into the atmosphere.

if im wrong somebody will chime in
