I have a 96 a4 quattro 2.8 and want to put chrome tips on the exhaust. I was wondering if anyone knows the dimensions or what size i am suposed to get?

Might as well buy an axle back and do it right.

 

if you are gonna get tips, might as well jusy buy the adjustable/universal ones from pep boys (I put one on my gf's civic)...I would not recommend this as a permanent "fix"...you should save your pennies and go for a real system...you could definately swing 2.5" piping to a magnaflow can for around 300$

I saw some in the parts department at the VW Dealer , But get the hole muffler you'll kick yourself later for buying just tips.

 

you will need 2.25" inlet for your tips. If you replace the muffler, its all 2.25" piping. check out LLtek.com for full exaust upgrades, if not take my word for it, and get it done.
