I'm not really a big fan of those. Anything stuck to the outside of an Audi with adhesive makes me squirm.

Ive seen them in real life... a budy out east against my opinion bought them and when I first saw them on the car (far away) I was like "hey thats not bad" then I walked up and saw how it looks up close. It looks like you got chrome stips glued on your grill[&:]

I thought it was pretty stupid looking but at 100 yards it looks aight

Hah, Jestnomen. Well put. Never seen the chrome strips myself, but I just had to laugh at your comment.

I think if your going to do that you should get it straight from Audi. I wouldn't trust any tack-on kits that may be out there for the reasons everyone is talkin about already. I wouldn't totally rule it out, just make sure you don't half *** it cuz you'll get crappy results.

Happy hunting!

norcaltrojan, you are correct to only get it from audi directly. I've heard that the kits you can buy require trimming of the strips yourself.

What makes the whole thing "squirmy" is the fact that it looks like it was added onto the original grill. You can clearly see the edges of the strips, so the observer can tell that it was an aftermarket add-on (almost an afterthought). To make the whole chrome thing look right, the OEM grill should be taken somewhere to be properly chromed (laminated, dipped, etc.). That way, it looks OEM (smooth and clean - no edges), but has a classy chrome appearance.

You just can't get that by slapping on strips. Tacky.
