Default Chroming grill fins

Hey, so i'm wanting to paint my grill fins chrome colored on my B6. Does anyone know what supplies or products i'd need. Primer? Chrome spray? then clear coat?

This was discussed in https://www.audiforums.com/m_159653/tm.htm, but i was not sure if the procedure is the same for painting the fins and not the outer lining. I'm looking for a completely chromed grill.

PRC A did exactly what i'm looking for, i emailed him, but he's not responding

sorry if this is considered a reposted thread [&:]

it doens't look like an after-market grill because it's the same pattern as the stock black fins, but yea, i'm not looking in to buying a new grill, i just wanted to add some spice to mine. But is this possible to do with chrome spray and other products without it chipping or flaking off?

You've already been helped... this is what you need to do.

Yes, I imagine chroming the grill with a can of spray "chrome" would look like hell from day 1... and would only get worse.

So, check out S_R_N83's 2nd link... you can find the OEM kits on eBay for cheaper too, I've seen them.

Have you seen pictures of cars with chrome grills? Hmm. Me no likey. To each his own though.

maybe as an alternative to chrome, you could paint the outer lower grills the body color, and leave the center upper and lower grills black. that would look pretty hot. chrome is no good though imo.
