Cigarette lighter shorting itself out..
98.5 1.8 FWD
I use my cigarette lighter to plug in my iPod FM adapter (getting a CD conversion cable soon though) and recently, it will stop playing entirely. It then takes the liberty of turning itself back on and finding the station again, but will shortly thereafter lose power like before.
Now I've moved the lighter jack on the ipod connection around and I can see small sparks coming from the walls of the lighter that move towards the ipod adapter, which I belive to be shorting itself out.
Any fixes? If not, how do I get the lighter port out?

Try checking your fuse box. My radar detector shorted out my cigarette lighter fuse. Bring it to any shop and ask them to test it with a voltage tester (just to see which fuse is bad). Good luck!
