first try to fix it ur self, if the paint isnt damaged just the clearcoat it shouldnt be hard because u wont need to match paint. just wet sand it and buff it up. if all else fails then buy the cf hood but definetley dont spend $700 to get the whole hood painted just because of a penny sized spot.

What you are describing sounds like bad repaint.... original audi paint is pretty tough!! slide your fingers across the back edge of the hood by the wipers if it is smooth, it is factory paint, if it is rought it is repaint!! To fix it right they would refinish the whole hood and blend into the fenders!! (they do this so if there is a slight variation in color it blends together and is not noticable.

ooh don't compare the cheap Ford paint to an Audi..... paint on the american cars in the 90's sucked!! Has any one seen the Fords and Chevy's with what looked like the paint just fell off in big chunks and see dark gray primer under. Those were all factory paint jobs gone bad.... using primer and paint that not even compatible with each other and eventually delaminated!!!
