Default Clutch Compatibility Question

I just ordered a LuK repset for my 1997 A4 1.8T FrontTrak.

Unfortunately, when it arrived, I found it had this Part #: 02-039. This is supposedly for 2001 A4s and Passats with the 1.8 Engine. Funny since when I asked they said it fit 1997-2001 A4s...

My car, according to the Luk website, requires a 02-028.

Its going to be a PITA to return it to them, so I wanna ask you all if there's any way I can still use this clutch on my car. If I can, it'll save me a helluva lot of money and time.

Thanks.

I assume you got it from ebay right? If so, the seller also lists clutches that will only work on 1996-1998 cars, which is false. Any clutch that will work on a 97 should work on a 99, 00 and even an 01. Im not positive, but I think it should work. PMauditech79- he should know if the clutch is interchangeable between all the B5 years.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah I ordered from SpeedSolutions from Brea, CA.

The reason I worried is because I checked www.lukclutch.com and it said on their site that the model #s for the 1997 and 2001 models were different.

I'll PM him ASAP.
