Default Clutch packs and flywheels...

Well, I got the turbo, the DV and the regulator upgraded. I'm on the highway the other day and had to get into the turbo in 5th gear and... it slips. I do have 110,000 miles on the original clutch and just added about 90 HP, so I guess I shouldn't be shocked. What clutch packs and flywheels have you been impressed with. Your input here is appreciated, so thanks in advance.

Pffft yeh standard audi clutches suck! i found that out one night when i launched to hard off the lights and totally burnt my clutch out....
especially if your car has been chipped or a turbo upgrade.

So replacing it would definately be worth looking into.

Forgot to mention that, it has been chipped also. I ended up getting a dual friction aliminum flywheel and clutch pack from South Bend Clutch. It should be here tomorrow. What did you replace yours with?

i havent replaced mine yet... it seems to be fine now..
but i wont be launching hard any more as i think it cant cope as my car is chipped and i have 19" wheels it really has a hard time on the clutch.
But down the line i shall get a heavy duty clutch!

imolas4, thanks for the reassurance. I take it you have some experience with the South Bend brand. I'm wondering whether it will feel the same as the stock clutch. It's being put in tomorrow. I actually did get it on Monday, but figured I'd have the rear main seal done at the same time, so I had to order it too.
