Coil Packs Keep Coming Up
Hello Everyone,
I've searched and searched but couldn't come up with a topic that has a solution to the coil packs coming "up". I've probably read all the issues surrounding the coil pack replacements and warranties, etc. But how the hell do I keep them "down"??? It seems that all 4 of them keep coming up - and, of course, the misfires start happening. This is my wife's car and my "job" for today is to try to fix it while she drives off to work with my M3.
I did notice that there are screw "holes" where it looks like some sort of bracket is supposed to keep the ignition coils from coming up. Is there something missing here? Attached is a pic. Notice the screw holes located diagonally to the ignition coils.
Has anyone figured out a way to keep these things down?
Thanks much!

i have a 98 1.8 and there are supposed to be screws to hold them down. mine has them. I guess if they are there, they should be used. i would talk to audi and see if there is a bracket to attach.
There are no screws that hold the coil packs down on the AWM motor ('01 A4). I have heard of guys just bending a piece of metal and screwing it down using the threaded holes that you see in your pic.
