Coincident?
For the past 6 months I have been getting a “Check Engine Light” for an 02 sensor at 55K miles.
I changed both 02 sensors, tried erasing CODE with VAG COM, nothing happen, error still exist.
Tried researching online about fixing problem but could not find any answers.
So finally I called Audi Service and they said that They were getting a lot of issues for the past 6 months due to bad gas quality.
They suggested me to feed my Audi with half Racing GAS and half normal gas. (I only put supreme, Chevron, ever since I bought Audi) due to Audi needs a higher octane due to poor gas quality. This usually work but they said if this doesn’t work for a month then bring car in for more troubleshooting.
I don’t have that kind of money to spend about $8 bucks a gal……..
So I decided to switch gas to SHELL, V-power, I waited until my Audi was about empty and filled tank up.
The next day “Check Engine Light” was gone.
Interesting……….tank was good until a week, then I switched back to Chevron just to test their gas.
“Check Engine Light” back on………
After tank was empty, filled tank with SHELL V-power……..”Check Engine Light” GONE.
In my case, Chevron was feeding my Audi gas generic fuel for the past 6 months.
If you have an 02 sensor error, try changing gas before you spend $$ on a new one.
