collapsed suspension

Default collapsed suspension

hi , im new here , just wondering what you guys think of this situation.
about a year and a half ago i took my 95 A4 to a recall for the suspension, it was givin the all clear and that was that,
until this morning, i stopped at the lights and heard a loud bang, the passenger side wheel had clean snapped off from the suspension, i couldnt believe it. do you recon i have any come back with audi or the garage where the test was done previously, any help is welcome thanks

if there was a recall and the dealerhsip shows no records of you getting it, i don't see why they wouldn
t do it, give them a call and tell them your vin

Are you sure it was your suspension? Are all you your bolts on there, maybe all your bolts came off then the wheel just feel off.

no its clean snapped of ,,the wheel is still attached to everything, but further back the steel is broken in two, the guy in the tow truck said hed only ever seen cars like this after a bad accident, lucky i was stopped when it happened

it all depends on what broke and what the recall was for, but yeah i would take it back to the place for sure

not uncommon and down to age and maintenance like under seal ( finnegans wax oil under seal recommended ), they break where the spring sits, don't try to weld it because it will explode go to breakers yard or recon unit

yeah mine is a 95 also, or say the Date of manufacture says, 06/95. it sucks i dont have a sunroof, it was standard on the A4
