Theres a roughness coming from the front end, im thinking the belts? When i rev in neutral its not smooth, it feels rough and grindy.[>:]

Im going to be doing the 80k service soon.

what should i look for with these symptoms?

Spark plugs and air filter should be changed.

hey, i'm not sure how a new 1.8t or 2.8 should feel, but around 2000 rpm, i get a lil vibration. is this wat u're talking about

if it wasn't there, it might be tuneup, or engine mounts.

Sounds like ignition to me. Start with plugs...that's the cheapest. Could also be a plug wire...which are really annoying to diagnose, because the car can idle fine and run fine at high throttle, but won't run at partial throttle/normal highway speed worth a damn. Next possibility is coil packs. Seems like I read a posting about an ?intake or ignition sensor? that always misfired #2 or #3 (can't remember, but it was a fairly recent posting in General Tech).

Hope this helps.

I have similar problem but i am not too sure as to say what it is as yet. But i was driving in steptronic took a corner then alll of a sudded ma audi sounds like some old car with that noise in the engine but then again my engine it self doesn't vibrate or nothing when i poped hood the manfold and the part that goes to the moffler was red bright red as in very hot. So whats does that mean. Also i checked ma pil just to check and i say lil bumble in it ont he dipstick when i took it out. Tmorrw i will try and figure out more but if what i am saying makes any sense and you have an idea as to what i am talking about just hit me up and let me know. Thanks
