OK, so I don't have a life. Was at PEP Boys (Moe, Curly, and Larry) killing time. I decided to look at the Octane Boosters and read the small print.

None makes a claim as to how much octane is raised. 104+ has no figures. Another manufacturer says in big letters says "Raises octane by 10 points", then in small print says that each point is 0.1 octane number.

Given the fuel/Booster ratio, you would likely get 1 RON out of the bottle added to a tank of gas.

Bottom line, is that the commercial products are pretty much a waste of money (my opinion).

 

Yes they are not worth the cost. They can leave deposites in your engine also and clog up your cat. You're better off adding some toluene to your gas.

 

If you add them to orange juice, you get one hell of a buzz

 

octane boost and orange juice why dont u just go wit the simple screw driver man

My old fake was on the "Wall of Shame" at Big Red Liquors for two years. How I ever thought that thing would work is beyond me. It had to be one of the worst looking fake id's ever presented in Indiana.
