Comparison: Goodyear F1-GS vs. Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S
I took off my 19" Goodyear F1-GS summer tires (235/35/19 and 265/30/19) and replaced them with a set of 17" Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S (235/45/17) high performance all seasons which I will be using at Quattrofest.
I was doing 60kph/40mph and took the right turn exit onramp to the highway, same exit I always take and at the same speed, and the rear end broke loose, the ESP light blinked, ABS kicked in and the car recovered.
Now the road was a bit wet from the rain earlier but I NEVER had that problem when I had the Goodyears on the car.
I tested the tires again on a different section of road where I knew I could toss the car around and the grip from the Pirelli's just didn't come close to the Goodyear F1's and I now believe the wet rating of the Goodyear F1 tires.
I guess if I do my driver education on tires that will slip and learn from that I'll be tearing up the streets this summer then I put the summer tires back on.
