Yeah, it is hard to find but take the screws out to you can peel the trunk lining back...it is in there wrapped in foam on the driver's side in the lowest possible point that you can access.

 

thanks again for the info...I'm going a new direction. I'm considering putting in a Phat (seems like a good deal: $175 from the dealer)system, so I'll need the connector. Anyone else have an opinion on the audi phat system? It seems the opinion on the topic a little slim. I've seen a few on another audi forum, but they're mostly just ramble.

Still can't find that connector. Next step is to pull out the side panel lining.

 

Order it from www.worldimpex.com for $150 plus shipping. It will come with the necessary cable. VW and Audi cables are different, so make sure you order the one for Audi (the part number is the same as for VWs except it has an "A" on the end).

The Phat Box is great. The 20GB drive will hold approximately 135 CDs worth of music or audio. However, it will not copy any copy protected music. It will directly copy a CD though.

The sound is awesome. It actually sounds good on my non-Bose system.

Keep looking for the connector; it's there.
