Considering an '06 A4
New here. Replacing my '99 Saab 9-5. I'm looking at a new A4 Quatro. I'd like to hear pros and cons on 2.0t vs 3.2. Opinions, experience, mod options, etc welcome. Went to the dealer and drove a 2.0t auto and a 3.2s with stick. I really want an auto. I have also driven the G35, Subaru Legacy GT.
Well the 4cyl turbo vs. N/A V6 debate has been covered about a billion times... so check out the search button at the top. A lot recent posts about people in your exact situation.
But, to cover it again (you can search for more in-depth info):
The 2.0T is a very easy motor to mod. Starts with 200 hp, a performance chip from APR (www.goapr.com) or GIAC will put you in the same performance league as the 3.2, but you'll still be burning less gas. The V6 is going to be smoother, and quieter though... and likely somewhat more reliable, as it's normally aspirated.
Welcome to the forums, too!

You will be much better off with the Infiniti. Audi quality is absolute garbage. Even though most repairs will be covered under warranty for the first few years, having your Audi crapwagon towed to the dealer every few months will be a major drag. Audi cares more about winning silly European races than actually investing in the development of quality consumer products.

*cough*
So maybe you bought an Audi, and maybe it was a lemon... maybe you encountered a sh!thole dealership. Fact of the matter is... We all drive audis and love them. A lot of people here really like the G35... but we didn't buy one.
Everyone always talks that reliability smack, but in my opinion is all about how you take care of the car. Just the basics, each week check the fuel levels and tire pressure and inspect the car for leaks and look under the hood for irregualities. I never understand why people believe they don't have to touch the car until the next service or never at all.

pcdrj - please disregard this womans post, or read it...and wait for the rebuttal of the members of this forum.
No one will really be able to advise you either way. I got the 3.2 but I had to test drive both for nearly 4 hours before deciding. Can't mod a 3.2 but I definitly felt it ran smoother. So you have to ask yourself whats important to you.
Yeah test driving both will ultimately make the decision for you. Depends what you want out of the car. Test drive all the cars you want actually. (Except for the Subaru, I'd like to see you in one of the other cars instead.

Read this, its 1.8 vs 2.8 article but the basics are the same. http://ctny.audiworld.com/mark/a4/purch.html The post from trish_maryland sounds like someone with absolutely no mechanical knowledge and should be ignored. The G35 is great too so either way you can't lose.

I bought mine last fall. I have owned many cars in my life, and I can tell you, the Audi is the finest car I have owned yet. They are reliable if you treat them well and follow the scheduled maintenance.
I also have a 300zx, a ford expedition, and have owned many other vehicles. I would rate the quality , fit, and finish, and driving excitement of Audi's as a straight up 10. They make a great car.
So, please ignore this ignorant post above, and good luck with your comparisons. Just go and test drive each vehicle, thats the best way to decide.
