Can somebody please help me figure out the proper PSI for the 235/45R17 Continental SportContact2? The B-pillar says 32-36psi, depending on how many passengers you have, but I suspect this may not be correct.

The tires do not indicate recommended PSI on the sidewall.

The Continental website doesn't tell you.

I've searched the forum exhaustively and can't come up with an answer.

HELP!

Its there, all tires are required to have the pressure on them.

I have similar tires, I usually run right around 40psi.
I would reccomend somewhere between 35-40 psi for your tires.

Thanks acetrebo,
I've been running them each at 38psi, based on a tip from another owner, and it's been fine, just didn't want to be exceeding the limits...

It's funny how the manufacturer (Continental) won't give you recommended pressures, and instead refer you to Audi. Well, Audi says check the B-pillar, so back to square one there. I probably just need to take a closer look to see the pressures on the sidewall. There is a LOT of information on these tires, probably more than any other tire I've ever owned. Maybe that's because they are ultra-high performance tires?

RE: Continental SportContact2 recommended tire pressure
Always refer to the "tire info placard" on your vehicle. The listing on the tire itself is simply the maximum safe tire pressure for the tire. This doesn't account for what kind of vehicle will be sitting on the tires. Unless you're running a tire that is significantly different from factory (like 31x10.50's )... depend on the door placard +-4 psi or so.

Most passenger tires have a maximum pressure of 35, 36, or 44psi. Many people confuse the max pressure with recommended, and run too much air in their tires, reducing traction, and significantly reducing tread life. It's rare to see a modern car that requires more than 32psi.
