Default Control arms, it there a better brand to go with?

hey everyone, just bought my car and just found out the control arms need to be replaced (front upper). the car has pretty low milage and i was wondering if i should replace both upper control arms now, and if there is a better brand to go with so they don't go bad again. thanks

from what i can tell the uppers are what go bad, when the car was on a lift there was play in the uppers...couldn't tell about the lowers though. do the lowers go out just as much as the uppers? thanks

I had to replace my lowers before my uppers... the control arms (all) are one of the areas on the A4 that should be aftermarket parts.

How can you tell if they need to be replaced? Can you feel a looseness when driving or tire wear?

I have had to replace 4 uppers only - lowers are still ok after 115k miles

i can hear it when i hit dips and bumps, i took it to a place and they put it on a lift and he showed me, by moving the tire back and forth with his hands, that there was play in the control arms.
