I've been having lots of crazy convenience electrical failures (locks, windows, dome lights etc.) and have come to the conclusion that it is a failing central locking control module. Where is this module located and will replacing it require reprograming by the dealer or is it a simple plug and go swap?

 

A failing alternator can cause spooky things like that to happen. Explain "crazy failures" in more detail... Control module failures are not common.

 

I'd done some very thorough searches and it appears that it is not uncommon at all. I found it located in the trunk. It was sitting in a few inches of water and the circuit board was quite corroded, safe to say that was my problem.

 

Where is it located exactly and how did it become flooded with water? Can you show me the search results you found?

No, it doesnt help. Is the control module youre talking about #5 or #6? Because #4 has nothing to do with what youre talking about, and you said its located in the trunk.. Im still wondering how it got flooded with water.

 

where is the convertible top module located because I need to replace mine.
