if this is for a v6 make one or buy it form ebay bc its pointless to spend any real money on one for that car.

audihere, why do you say that? you don't think the k&n kit is better than the 40 dollar ebay kit?

audihere is wrong b/c the ebay kits have bad filters and horrible couplings. The only decent thing on them is the intake pipe. I also thought about getting the ebay kit. They are also not CARB excempt if u live in CA.

i didnt really think of the filter. when i think of a cai for an audi i think of pointless really...even know i have one. the only reason being i love the sound of a turbo. its proven that the box is as good if not better. many people will just say put a drop in so u keep the heat out. well buy one off ebay that has a k&n then it will 50 bux more instead of 250-300 for a evom or something carzy like that. the only few places ive ever heard of that have gotten good gains are ottienger=800 and ghl=? and cabrino=350 but im not sure on this one bc io haven't heard too much on the feedback. the ghl they only make for transverse engines, the ottienger is for the b6 but the cabrino is for the b5 which ull prob get the coldest temps. these are all for a 1.8t which this guy still hasnt said what its for. dont waste ur money on a cai go and use it and get ur t/b p&p and ull see better gains!

For what it's worth, I'd consider using another air filter. While K & N is a very good flowing filter, it can be a bit rough on your MAF. It does allow more air to flow in, but it also allows bigger particles through that can abraid the MAF elements. The oil they use to coat the filter and trap particles flowing through can also coat the elements and throw a code. I ran one on my 2000 and had to replace my MAF. Not cheap. The question becomes, is the relatively small gain in performance you gain by using the K & N filter worth the possibility of replacing a several hundred dollar MAF. I'm not saying the CAI is a bad idea, just that there are some other issues to consider when you use the K & N filter.
