Default Coolant question

I was wonderingabout thetype of coolant I need to use in my 96 A4. Bentley manual says it's the blue G11, but everyone here swears by the pink G12 coolant. Which one should I use?

never heard of blue g11[&:] must be for older audi's

honestly you can run g12, universal yellow, or even the green stuff. you just cant mix anything with g12 except water.

Yeah the old school coolant is in pretty much anything before 96, G12 should be ok.
What color coolant is in there right now?

Right now thethere is some sort of universal yellow coolant that needs to go. I thing that's causing my problem with the heat in the winter - when the RPM's are up there is anok heat, but low RPM's result in cool air coming from the vents. The coolant temp is exactly in the middle where it should be so I don't think is the thermostat. I few peopleon this forumdescribed the same problem with the heat but no one gave a straight answer. Anway, the coolant must be flushed the question is which one, G11 or G12.

Thats a hard one to answer, its right on the border line of which coolant to use. I would have the audi parts department run your VIN and see what it calls for.
If flushing the coolant doesn't fix your problem i would be looking for a leak by the thermostat housing.
