Alright, I have already do some search in here but would need some assistance from you guys.
I drained the antifreez coolant from my A4 the other day and I was wondering which coolant
should I use. I'm sure the ones from the dealer is pretty expensive so I would like to take an
alternative route.

Is it ok for me to use Prestone's coolant fluid? I mean the red or orange kind? I know I don't
really like the green kind myself but I guess all coolant is suppose to do the same job. Please
let me know asap thanks!

 

get the real stuff from the dealer or ecstuning.com i wouldnt use anything but OEM, i think its Pentosin 11s, someone correct me if wrong

 

You meant G-12 antifreeze. You could also use universal yellow antifreeze. Flush the system first. You will always find this in an emergency.

One part distilled water to one part Pentosin G12 coolant.

the Pentosin 11s is the power steering fluid. G-12 is what you should use for coolant.

 

yeah dont get those mixed up.. otherwise your going to be in a world of hurt.. but hey maybe your steering wheel would be cold!

 

Well, I went to check on the Prestone's orange coolant and it shows a G05 so
I suppose the car needs G12 that cost $10 more but I would think it's safer
to go with OEM as far as coolant.

 

Well luckily you only have to change coolant every 2 years, so you really wouln't have been saving much money in the long run.
