Default Corner Bulbs

well i got my clear corners on, let me tell you, w/ that orange bulb in there you cant tell a bit of difference...

i had to use the stock plug, instead of the one that came w/ the new ones, and it slipped right in the housing like it should.

so anyways, i had been talking to overspun on AZine, and he had been telling me about these bulbs called phillips silvervision bulbs.. that dont look orange but blink orange, so i headed to advanced auto to check for them, and didnt see them, but i noticed sylvania makes a similar bulb, bluish green bulb, blinks orange, kinda ricy i thought at first, but in the housing they look very good, and should look just as good when i get silverstar headlights...

just gotta polish my headlights, they look a little dull compared to the new corners :-\

so the headlight fog and high beam are all H7?

those are the expensive bulbs... doh!

you know, audi made a good plan when they decided to not put bulb numbers in the manual...

"spare bulb packs should be kept and are available from your dealer" poo...

Yup, H7's all around. What are you putting in the heads and fogs? Different wattage, or just different bulbs?

No kidding Shon. You know, I went to the dealer the other day to get a few of the screws that hold the bottom shroud on the A4's and they were $4.80!!!!! For a screw. And the black plastic ones that go on the shroud in the fender well, $5.30!!! I had to laugh.

im thinking of a silverstar headlight, and just regular high beam and fog lights...

one of my fog lights is burnt out, so i figure buy a set of silverstars, and move one of the headlights to the burnt out fog...

i dont use my high beams much, or my fog lights at all, i would use the fogs if they were seperate from the healight assembly, i just dont like that... :-\

If you are going for a truly white look as well as good coverage, they are decent, but I've gone through a pair of 'em before and they weren't anything spectacular. They ar definitley quality durable bulbs, but I never got the kind of results I wanted from 'em. I ended looking around and found some that I still have now that were about the same cost, but much whiter and brighter. I'd love to give you the site, but I completely forgot to make a list of my bookmarks on my laptop, so when I wiped the hardrive to install XP, I lost all of 'em.

I'll start looking for the site again, but it may take a bit since I can't remember how I found it.

not lookin for anything spectacular, but i want some kind of decent headlights, and since a fog burnt on me, that would be $13 (damn h7's) for one, or $35 for the silverstars, and then have one h7 to spare after replacing the burnt fog.

SHON
if you have the pre 99 stlye headlights like I had in my 97 you can clean the inside by taking the whole light assembly out and there are clips that hold the front on just pop em off and clean inside with windex or something
If you have that yellowish haze its probly on the inside

Note: the bulb type is imprinted inside the headlight on the clear plastic

Shon, I too had to clean the haze off my lenses before I changed bulbs. I know it's not a real popular mod here, but I put 100 watt Hella bulbs in both my low beams and fog lights. They put off much more light than did the factory bulbs but still within the limits of the focused lenses. The ones I found were perfect white for the head lights, but by the time I got around to ordering them for the fogs, the only ones they had available were the slightly blue tinted bulbs. Not bad, they really don't shine blue, they just look like they should.
