you'll have to first remove the knee bolster. there are (4) 8mm bolts to remove.
1. remove the fuse box cover on the side of the dash, at the bottom you'll see the bolt to remove
2. at the bottom right corner of the knee bolster you'll see the second bolt (it's exposed)
3. the other two are behind the little rectangular covers right at where your knees would be if you were driving. just stick a socket into the hole at about a 30 degree angle
with the four bolts removed, pull down and then out on the knee bolster to slide it out of place.
removing the knee bolster will expose the two final screws to remove, right below the steering column.
getting the gauge cluster out can be tricky. take your time and be patient or you'll damage the steering column trim. there are 4-5 connections to unplug on the back of the cluster to get it out completely.
i have no idea if a GPS system will fit
ecodes are very easy to install, but you have to have some experience with a dremel. the fender trimming is minimal, but it's easy to make mistakes because of the angles you're working with.

thanks bentframe, but the article panda posted seems to be the easy way. I knew it could be done, just didnt know the screws (mine look like alan key screws) were behind a piece of plastic. And with the ecodes...are they bigger and thats why you need the dremel?
LOL, glad you didn't follow my directions! i don't know why i thought you had to remove the knee bolster first...i must have been thinking about removing the dash trim....my bad, just ignore me!

there's a small tab on your fender in between the headlight and the corner lens. there is no gap there on the one-piece headlights so you have to trim the fender slightly.
