Default Couple questions about `00 A4

I've found a 2000 A4 1.8T with 110K mi. It has some after market stuff done to it... But there is a couple other problems.

the 2 rear wheel bearings are shot but I have all the parts need for the install all you need to do is take it to your mechanic, there is also a small rip in the drivers seat, there is also a small syncro problem with 3rd gear that does not affect performance at all.
How big of a problem is the syncros? Are they expensive to fix? Whole new trans?

He wants $6500 for it.

These are some of the other mods....

This car has a Garrett GT2871r turbo, LLTek intake with K&N Filter, a cat delete 3" downpipe, MIKA tuned chip w/ 550cc injectors, upgraded fuel rail and fuel pump, Milltek turboback exaust(nice deep tone), Greddy Turbo timer and Greddy Boost Controller, 1.5" lowering springs, angel eyes upgraded headlights and a Greddy Front mounted intercooler.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a fix-er-up-er.

Expect to pay another $3-5k to fix the problems. Plus another $600-900 for tuning to get rid of thecrappy mika-tuning.

His 'Syncro' problem does not affect performance? if it had no effect, then why is it a problem? He sounds shady...... the car is not worth it. He's trying to dump his problems on you.

Kind of partial to the 2.7 turbos.

My main things are turbo, AWD, and manual. Other then that, dont care too much.

well with that criteria, you need to be looking at 97-98, and possibly 99.5 A4 1.8's. They will be in the price range you are looking for. im sure there are some lower mileage ones out there, you just have to be patient.

Yeah, patience is my downfall... lol... But I am trying to hold out till I find what I want...

Although, I just ran accross this - http://chambana.craigslist.org/car/398896604.html

Even though its automatic, it is worth a look. He is also selling an 96 A6... Have to atleast look at them.

It looks pretty clean, but maybe a little pricy depending on the milage. I only paid $10K for mine & it's fully loaded with only 63K miles. You could alsoprobably pick out your ownnew tires and wheels for $1200.
