courtesy lights
okay so since i've owned my car i dont think i have ever seen the courtesy lights come on (the ones in the foot well not over head) is the thing that senses the door is open broken ? or do they just not come on, the bulbs are fine i checked those (switched them with the one in the trunk) and they were fine... i painted the bulbs red so i would have red foot well when i opened the door i would just like more light when i get in at night...and that solar projector that is now the courtesy light is just wayyyy too much light

RE: courtesy lights
Do *any* of the footwell lights work? On my '02, they only light up when the corresponding door is open (e.g. passenger door open, passenger footwell lights up).
If the dome light goes on when you open the door, then the door switch is ok. If none of the courtesy lights work, then there's an electrical problem (either in the control module or the wiring to the lights). Maybe a blown fuse?
