Thanks for all the help. Turns out it was 100 for the mani and 1,200 for timing belt, water pump etc. etc. But he can't do it till Tuesday. So back to the original reasson I posted...am I losing any power?

1200 for timing belt is dealer prices... you should be able to find a euro mechanic do that for 800-1000

Even that is expensive. The job can be done for $500-700.

Your telling me I can buy all those parts, belts, pumps, and all that other stuff, and have a 6 hour install done for 500 dollars????

if you buy used...maybe around that digit and if you did it yourself you could knock it down some more

It was actually my fault for confussing the prices. But I thought the parts alone were a crap load. He was actually telling me how I didn't have tp change any of it...his exact words if I may, "Thats not some american made car, that TB is good for the life of your car, change it when it blows, blah blah blah" I was like no dude it's got 77,000 miles, as far as im concerned i feel like i waited too long. I think i need to find a new car guy. Thanks for all your help

Im not trying to really put anything used on my car, I want all new straight from Audi OEM parts.

alright cool thats prolly best then if you want your car till 200k but for those parts you can go to www.ecstuning.com or www.thepartsbin.com

this is why i purchase service manuals for all cars. if you have the time and tools, you can save yourself thousands over paying the dealership cost!!!!!!!!
