they are alright, the one I drove felt quick cus the shocks were shot and when you hit the gas the front would rise about a foot and the back would drop about the same. making you feel as if you were accelerating harder. But your right there not to bad, depending on witch one you have, I think they are rated around 180 hp. BTW when you getting the real car back?

I hope those tires go back more bald then when you got the mali. Rental cars are the best for that. I have a buddy that has old 3 series bimmer, and he has a modded imprezza. Well he blew the motor in the imprezza 1 day. The dealer gave him a loner, blew the motor in that 3 days later. Dealer then gave him another loner which survived untill the subey was done. I felt bad for those car, they had the e-brake on more then it was off. He would yank the e-brake hit the gas and smoke those tires all day long. lol.. it was cool

rentals are the best for a good beating. I rip wheel at just about every light....because I can. The thing has 40000 miles on it and feels worse than my old Accord with 165k! Just all over the road. Plus, the ghetto rental outfit they got the car from must chop up cars and throw them back together. The front tires & hub caps are right off a newer camry. The rear tires & rims are the factory mali ones....BUT the passenger rear tire is like a 235/70. The sidewall is HUGE and is the odd ball tire. So in summation, all the tires are different sizes......really helps the car out performance wise! I wonder why when I'm flyin' up i95 the whole car shimmy's all over the road!

I'll tell you, audi's are unbelievable handling cars. I'm sure I'm preachin' to the choir here...BUT. I had my buddy in my ride...he's one of those F-150 manly men...(beat)
I took em for a ride and made a 90 degree turn with no brakes. He almost $hit! The car just defied the laws of physics and turned. QUATTRO ROCKS.

Merry Christmas all....I'm out!

(thinkin' about a chip, gotta get my research on though....new to the audi lifestyle, don't want to f' this car up!)

Well, I joined this forum because of a similar crazy electrical failure that happened last night. Have a '98 A4 2.8. Parked at the grocery store last nite, all lights/signals work fine. Leave grocery store, remember seeing my headlights reflecting on the car next to me as I back out of the space and my turn signal working when I leave the store parking lot. Lots of overhead lights and traffic so don't notice that something is "wrong" til about a mile later. Are my headlights on? Check switch, yes, it's in on position. Hummm, passed a parked cop just aways back and s/he didn't pull out to follow me so my lights must have been on then. Hummm. Yes indeedy, no headlights work, no signals, no fog lights. Flashers work so we drive on home - ON, off, ON, off. Notice that the fan isn't working for the heater either (it's cold here right now in NH!). Get the hubbie to take a look next morning. He's a Ducati mechanic so says he knows everything about electrical issues, hehehe. Get this, besides being fascinated that there are more fuses than you can shake a @#%#@ at, and they're different for left and right (?!?), NONE of the fuses are blown. SO, he's sure that there's some switch mechanism that must be messed up. And there's no info in the owners manual. Tells me to get on-line and find a tech site. I find this thread...hummm, my daughter plugged in the radar detector just after we passed that cop last night....could it be the dreaded cigarette lighter causing unusual electrical failure? Should I suggest Mr. Ducati Electrical Wizzard reset the computer by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery? Should I do it myself and then pretend that it was magic? Inquiring minds want to know...TIA. If it doesn't get fixed, I'll have to use my daughter's A90-20V to get to the 24 Premier party tonight...

first of all 24, an awesome show....I'm dying to see the premier tonight! Anyways, my electrical failure was due to a short in the cig. lighter from a cell charger....and it happened two weeks after I got the car! Turns out I blew out the electrical control module located under the steering column somewhere. It didn't short the enitre box but just various circuits. My car doing some strange things(as per my previous threads)

I would start by disconnecting the battery and leavinig it disconnected for a couple minutes....hopefully this will reset the computer. My car was ok...seemed to reset things....except for the blown circuitry. Other that disconnecting the battery, I have no clue....not an expert in electronics.

The dealer told me to never use the cig lighter for anything other than lighting cigarettes...since I'm a non-smoker (or at least in my Audi) the feature has been rendered useless!

Hope this helps and take care!

(hope Jack Bauer kicks some serious terrorist @ss 2nite!)

Have Mr.Ducati tap into your fuse box to power the radar detector.
