Default Custom dash trim

I fi was to make a custom dash trim instead of my crappy plastic one how hard would it be? Is it just the shape out of wood with some vinyl covering it or do i need some of those tabs on it too? I think it would be a fun and pretty simple job to do, just some wood, rotor tool, vinyl (or leather) and a staple gun. Also anyone know how thick i should go? Heres a pic of what i have now (doesnt show the warping very well).

Yeah I'd leave it... the player itself looks worse (sticks out like a sore thumb in silver!) than the trim surrounding it.

But, this is often the way when you go aftermarket. I am happy with how mine looks... but it's still not as nice as OEM.

I would def paint the wood!! Wood just doesn't fit the interior of the A4.

ORIGINAL: apg96

just some wood, rotor tool, vinyl (or leather) and a staple gun.
I heard a joke with all of those same products. I think the punchline was "Famous last words of a Redneck"

I don't like the looks of the wood either, but I'd have to go with a brushed aluminum look.

That would be pricey though. Painting it matte black seems to be the best solution.
