just bought two cv boot kits from the local shop and they are plastic. I know the originals are rubber. Did they switch or something or has any one replaced them with the plastic ones before. The car is a 99.5 a4 quattro manual. Thanks guys

 

The rubber dries out faster. It is common to replace the factory rubber ones and the replacement cv boots areplastic, even at the dealship.
