Just out of curiosity, what is the approximate price to convert a CVT to a 6spd manual? Any ideas ? Ballpark figure? Thanks

 

its not worth it, just sell your cruddy CVT and buy a manual, i dont think anyone has ever done a tranny swap from auto to manual on an A4 that i have heard of, this feels like deja vu

There's a guy on AudiWorld who did it...I think he said it cost $6,000 and change, but you can recoup about 2.5-3K if you find some poor guy whose auto tranny just exploded to buy yours once you've removed it. It's possible, but I'm sure its a giant pain the a$$ and not advisable.

 

Yeah definately not worth the expense, or hassles. Sell your car, and buy a manual... way easier, and you'll have a car that is how it came from the factory.

 

yeah, "Cameron" on AudiWorld did it...I'm having trouble posting the link, but he posted one back in 1999 about his A4's "second heart transplant." If you search around I'm sure you can find it.
