According to some studies I have read, the deer whistles, including the electronic ones, do NOT work. The best way to avoid hitting a deer is to keep your speed down on back roads, do not over-drive your headlights, keep them on high-beam as this reflects deeper into the deer's eyes and if you see one brake and DO NOT SWERVE. None of this guarantees that you will not hit a deer, it just lowers the likelihood that this will happen.

I commute to Pittsburgh every morning from the Youngstown area and I take back roads to beat the toll on the PA turnpike. I have frequently seen deer on this one twisty back road I have to take. So far so good. I just keep my speed down. I leave a few minutes earlier so I have time to drive at a moderate pace.

 

yea thats what i thought about the deer whistlers. but i also was on back roads and i have seen deer plenty of times on this road so i was not goin very fast. 40mph around thecorneror slower cuz i had all 4 tires locked up when i seen it. but the thing turned right at me like it wanted to lick my headlights i had nowhere to go other then the ditch and i was like f##k it. so i smoked the deer....this all happend so fast tho so i didnt really think of doing anything else. sad day iam trying to find a junkyard that has audis but iam comin up with nothing

 

This is why you get HID's so when they look into your headlights they go blind. Just once they go blind you have hope they go running and not stand still.

if you have insurance, I would say pay the deductable and get a check for the estimate and use that $ for the parts and pocket the difference...

no, I didn't have a single problem witht he seller, I bought it now and paid on the spot, less than a week later the lights were on the car.

damn glad youre ok thats some damage right there! i went 1 piece a couple months ago, so ill sell you my 2 pieces for cheap if you want. i was in an accident last week and i saw some fenders on ebay for $30 that were primed, ready for paint. i wouldnt buy the windshield new id go junkyard im sure they have plenty....same w hood if you arent gonna go CF
