Damn, I gotta start doing this myself.
Damn, I Just got my car back from the shop and I'm about $1300 lighter than i was yesterday.
I really need build a place in our yard and learn to do some of this work myself.
This really doesnt sound like $1300 in work, but then again, I'm not exactly sure how much work it really is, never having done it before and all

check codes
Replaced both rear rotors
Replace both rear break pads
Switched front rotors (previous owner had them on backwards *mumbles*) (would this have caused many problems I should be aware of for future reference)
Replaced drivers side dimming mirror
Replace Right front ABS module/speed sensor
Cleared ABS light
+ labor
On a diff note, does anyone have any idea how much it would cost to fix a small tear in the leatherette seats?
We ordered tires from Tirerack, took them to sears to have them mounted and they screwed the back of my passenger seat. The back seats were folded down, and instead of pulling the tires out through the trunk, like I put them in there the tech decided tit was a great idea to yank them out the back door.
I need to take the car and get some estimates on repair/replacing the seat so their insurance can pay for the repairs.
It's been a really crappy week so far, lets hope things get better from here lol.
Ah you dont need a garage for any thing, you can do almost anything in a parking lot or driveway. I also have a rip in my seats, and the leatherette is chipping away...weight reduction
True True, but we have about 1 foot either side of the car in the drive way, so its a little tight to really do much. Not to mention is not exactly flat and we have no place to put any sort of tools. I think my wife would seriously devorce me if I started stack tools in my home office along with the 15 computers and billion network cables and switches

As far as the seats go, this is like maybe a 1/4 inch tear that barely hits the seat lining. But the size isnt the point, its more the interior of the car is perfect, the mechanical side obviously needs work heh but the interior was the only perfect peice of the car and well, some careless jackass screwed it up (and the careless jackass wasnt even me!)
Dan,
I feel your pain when you said those morons ruined your leather seats when they were supposed to be working on something else. I got my windows tinted 4 months ago and the guy working on my car at tint shop left a cut on the edge of my backseat. He told his manager that it was there before they got it, but he was full of s@#t because my leather was in “immaculate” condition. So they both denied it and I had to pay for it myself. But to answer your question, I took my car to a leather auto repair shop that is really good here in Rochester, NY. They matched the color and texture of my leather and it set me back about $120. They don’t repair the slit/cut they replace the section of leather that the cut/slit is on. Fortunately for me it was the small section on the edge of my backseat, but it looks like nothing ever happened.

Yeah, the ABS module was a bitch, it was all sorts of corroded and took ages to drill and pull the copper wiring out. I had a look at it jammed in there before he took it out and seen it after it was out. The thing was mess.
That sucks. Sears were cool enough to admit they screwed up, unfortunately they thought it would be "just a couple hundred to fix" that was the leather and the crushed side skirts (replacing and painting them) so they never bothered to call the insurance guys. He nearly passed out when I handed him an estimate for $1300 for paint and parts (not including the leather)
Anyway, I'll hopefully get to meet with the insurance adjuster types tomorrow or Friday and start the process of getting the problems fixed.
Hmm nice to know the leatherette can be repaired... I figured it'd be a costly thing, and might not come out right. My front seat has a tear, at the bottom of the side bolser. Was looking into S4 seats, since I like them more anyways... Might just repair these then, that'll hold me over for a while.
