Default in dash navigation

I currently have a garmin pda navigation system, But I was wondering if anyone has an aftermarket in dash working well in their b5 a4. I am obviously looking to save as much money as possible, while still getting a decent system so I can have navigationa and my wife can use the garmin in her honda. I would like to have a unit that doesnt pop out the lcd; rather the lcd is the face instead. Thanks

I'm looking into getting a in dash dvd/nav system by Kenwood. I just installed one in a solara. This sh*t's nice! It's a double DIN size, touch screen unit and its mostly screen than buttons. Looks real stealthy. Found it a crutchfield, then searched elsewhere for a far better price.

It's the Kenwood DDX6019 in-dash DVD player & KNA-G510 navigation system package.

i have a pioneer avic-z1 and i had tweeter install it which cost me alot but it looks stock the only problem is the swix module that is supposed to make my steering wheel controls work don't work with a4s so they jsut put a remote on my steering wheel so its useful but all in all i love it

im going back and forth between the avicz1 or the kenwood with the navigation box. my main concern is complementing the stock red lights on my 2002 a6.

does the z1 blue offset your red lights??? I know the kenwood is red.

You can switch the Kenwood lights between green and red.

For all that money why not just spend the extra $100 or so and get the OEM Audi RNS-E? Fits in factory plugs and requires little to no modification to work.
