I'm wondering how hard it is to change the Cam Sensor in my '01 A4 1.8TQ AWM....

I've heard its about $600 or so to replace, and I've got a very loud rattle in my engine that I believe is the cause of it. I was told this is the cause of the problem by two different mechanics (who didn't go into very much detail during diagnosis)....

I'm positive there's nothing loose in the engine, and I really have no other idea what the problem may be....I've lost a bit of power because of it as well...

Does it make the rattle at the same time mine does (after the engine warms up at idle)? Or is it constant for you?

 

Have the codes read and post them.

 

Codes are as follows:

P0011 16395 Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit B2 Malfunction

You have a 4 which has only one bank which is bank 1.
This code is for bank 2.
