discouraged about A4
2001 is reliable. Make sure the ignition coils were replaced, free recall. Check for oil sludge. Timing belt should be replaced between 60K mi and 90K mi. Listen for wheel bearing and control arm noise.
The turbo with a chip is just too much fun, great gas mileage, and the 1.8 is known to be reliable. I still need to have an oil pressure check done on mine (way to check for sludge).
Also meant to say before, make sure you find one thats been maintained and ideally has a little bit of warranty left.
1.8 Turbo + Chip & Exhaust, Quattro, Manual, Sport Package is the way to go.
If you install a big turbo it should still make a good daily driver. Thats my plan.
BTW, the Bosch Sport 110 BPV is similar to the 710 except has a different spring for high boost as the 110 comes stock on 911 and Saab Turbos.

the 1.8 is easier to mod if u are not doin serious mods ( chip, exhause, intake) but if u put a turbo on a v6 then it will be easy to mod 2 but will cost more and more work in to it. so i gess for my search of a car is gess im leanin abit more towards a v6 mainly for the reliability, cus i like to drive not watch it in the garage
. thanks
