Distraught & distressed with my 98.5 A4
Hello A4 enthusiasts! This is my first time to the forum and I am hoping some of you can help me here. I have been to many dealers and I question their so-called expertise. Whenever I take my car from the dealer, I feel I am just paying for a very expensive car wash! [sm=smiley24.gif] I love my A4 and it has about 83k miles. I am very meticulous on maintenance and oil changes. I intend to keep it for awhile (over 100k) .
Anyhow, here is my issue: The oil pressure warning appears whenever the weather is warm (over 65 degress). When the oil temp goes above 225 degrees, the warning appears. This usually appears when I am idling in traffic and it disappears when I start driving. The warning light becomes more frequent when it gets hot and humid in Chicago and I have the air conditioner running. I have raised the to the dealer a number of times. They are unable to reproduce the symptom and the only thing they can produce is an invoice. [:@] Often times, they tell me to make sure my oil is filled up which I think is load of crap.
What do you folks think is causing the problem here? I appreciate any input you can offer!!!

Great input! I appreciate the feedback so far.
Here are some of my comments: If it is related to the oil pump, would I not expect to see this behavior during the cooler, winter seasons. I seem to lean towards the comment of BadLuckAudi , it does exhibit the symptom of an engine sludge problem. But here are my follow up questions:
1) What approach should I take in addressing this problem? Can I take care of it myself vs. going to the dealer?
2) I noticed this is common problem with 1.8T. How could this have happenned with the 2.8? I have always used Mobil 5w30 synthetic oil whenever I performed my oil change and other times, it has been the dealer. I guess what I am trying to get at is how can I prevent from happenning in the future.
