honestly, if you take your airbox out, you should be able to tell which parts are restricting your air and which parts are unnecessary just by looking at it, i'm pretty sure that's what audiboy did for his
a dremel with a cutting wheel...if you don't have a dremel, you can buy one almost anywhere for fairly cheap...but don't get an imitation, only Dremel brand...and you'll probably go through at least a couple cutting wheels, they come in packs of 20-30
Like bent said, i went in twice and cut till i figured out what was doing most resticting, and keeping the most heat out. So apg, dont make big holes in ur airbox thats closest to the engine, becuase u will draw in more hot air. On my 1.8t, i focused on the bottom with the biggest hole, (its basically open) and i dont run a skidplate, so im tying to suck air up through, and then more cutting for air to come up near the fender, i cut mine up big time, works really well.
did u do that thing when u move the foam around to block the heat?
The thing im worried about is since i have to buy the tool my dad will figure out hat im gonna do (and the sound when i do it) so i think he will flip out on me. Hmm. He jsut not a car guy liek i am. He doesnt get it.
