Do 1.8t f-up more than 2.8s?
Im still looking into getting my first kraut car,my bwoi tells me with a tight budget I'm better off with the 2.8 cuz 1.8t A4s tend to need a lot of mech. work due to them f-ing up a lot-TRUE????????
2.8 is supposed to be more reliable. the 1.8t gives you the opportunity for performance enhancements. if you're looking for reliable and second car, 2.8 is fine. people talk bout them hitting 300k here. key is maint.
short answer im gonna say yes, everytime i see a F-up with a car its usaully the 1.8t thats got it. oil changes have to be religous and hold onto record, t-belt s problem, oil sludge. turob failure. given that the 2.8 can have the same problem but doesnt due to being non turbo. b9th engine are reliable though, ive seen a few 2.8s with 300k+ and a few 1.8ts int he 200k range.
