Do the A4's all come turbo'ed? Sorry for such a dumb question, I'm new to the Audi scene. I'm looking for an A4 w/Turbo so any suggestions would be aswesome. THanks guys

 

1.8T , 2.7T and 2.0T have turbos.

 

haa..haa..I was wondering what the "T" meant! That also explains why the 3.0 doesn't have a T next to it. I see a lot of good deals on the 1.8T, but it is a 4-banger. Is it worth it? I mean, how much more would an upgraded turbo setup cost? I really want an A4, but just doing some research and looking for the right one

 

although it is a 4 cylinder... it has the most potential out of all the audi engines... along with the 2.7T...

It depends on what type of turbo upgrade you would like to invest in... of course the bigger the turbo the more money your going to have to spend on other parts to support the power

The 1.8T is a ver versitile engine and can be modified easily with little money to make it a much more spirited car

what kind of budget for modding wouldyou be interested to do if you were to purchase a 1.8T?

 

i recomend the 1.8T as well and i have a 2.8 Naturally aspirated. It is a little faster stock but much more expensive to upgrade and a 1.8T would smoke a 2.8 if they both had 1000 bucks in mods. a 600 dollar chip would make a 1.8 T smoke a 2.8 with intake and exhaust, and thats only with a chip and not including intake and exhaust. SHIAT it would smoke the 2.8 if the 2.8 was chipped too. They are really impressive for a 4 cylinder.

That sound great...plus I bet the 1.8 is a lil better on gas, huh? Anyway, I know when I purchase one I'm going with DPE wheels right away. Being that these cars have turbos already, do they have inter-coolers or do I gotta get all that stuff myself. Turbo timer, boost controller, etc. I don't want a huge turbo setup. I nice small one would be nice. What are prices on all of this stuff...My budget I don't know since I'm used to BMW's. I had an E36 M3 and to turbo that was $7,500+. Please keep any suggestions coming guys, thanks!!!

 

I also suggest the 1.8 if your into modding. I must disagree with 18valves, with just a $1000 a 1.8 isn't gonna smoke a 2.8...well maybe just your 12V

 

Would I be able to get an upgraded turbo w/inter cooler and all the needed parts and tunning for 4-5G's? Also, I am looking at an 01 A4. what is the differences between an 01 and an 03?

 

It seems like you should be able to accomlish it for that price, or at least in the ballpark. APR just released the K04 Turbo kit for the newer model B7 series.....the price on that one is $4,300 - so I would expect the earlier model to be cheaper + intercooler.
