On my last my second 2.8 which wasn't quattro I had a button next to the hazar one that allowed me to take it out.
First 2.8 quattro didnt have the button and right now my 1.8t q same thing no button.
Im guessing that with the quattro its always on ?

It's part of the antilock break system in the control modual, if you have it there would be a light that say ESP light up at startup during the systems precheck. Iwas toldthere was supposed to be a button to disable it. I don't know but my 1999.5 1.8t doesn't have it.
dang, i wanna disable it and see what happens, lol... i wish i had an owners manual so i could check... i lost my owners manual the first day i had the car... i rolled up a little something on it and have never seen it since.. .lol
on the 2001 its ESP and to disable it for test purposes only
remove fuse #42 the abs light will probably throw a wobbler but will clear when the fuse is replaced, earlier cars will have a fuse for the T/C ( if it has ) consider fitting a bridge switch between the polls of the fuse so you can switch it off and on ( also goes for the newer ones ) that's what the much older Audi's had for off road
