cant get my godamn car to work. i disconnected my ecu thinking it wouldnt hurt right? but my car is idleing low, around 800, wont go past 1600 is drive, and just doesnt sound quite right. 99 a4 1.8Tq automatic. i tried disconnecting (-) and waiting 20 mins but its still acting up. do i really need vag to reset my ecu? any ideas? kthx

Get it vagged... Im sure you were told that before, because that is something you say you know you need to do.. Also, don't recreate a thread just because it didnt get the answer you were looking for the first time... thats just plain rude and uncalled for.... Your problem is strange, it doesnt sound like tranny limp mode.... Was the car running this way before or after you disconnected the ecu? Why did you disconnect the ecu? Why did you buy an Audi?? Dont you know they are unreliable???? Shoulda went with the Geo man...
