Default Does anyone know if an aftermarket intake would void the warranty

I am looking at either buying the Carbonio Audi A4 1.8T 02-05 Carbon Fiber Intake or the EVOMS Intake Kit for Audi A4 1.8T 2002-2005 for my Audi. Does anyone have one? does this void the warranty?

That will not void your warranty just for mounting it, but obviously your dealer will tell you that. Do some research and you will find that the burden of proof for anything that may fail on your vehicle MUST be proven that the aftermarket part that you put on your car was the primary and direct reason that your vehicle failed. I.E. if your suspension goes bad, they obviously cannot blame it on your aftermarket air intake... I'm sure someone can give a more technical response on that, but in short just putting a new intake will not automatically void your warranty. If it did, I guess that would mean that my audi dealership mechanics are dumb as I have plenty of mods on my car and I still get all my warranty/service done without any hassle. HTH's...

Yes should have been more specific. Adding an intake make cause the dealer to void engine related repair work.

Sorry to be vague...it will void the engine repairs related to the MAF e.g. turbo, engine, etc...
