so i was lookin at h&r coilovers and noticed that the part numbers were the same for the 1.8 and the 2.8 even though there is an obvious weight difference. so since i wasnt lookin to spend 1000+ on just coilovers i looked at some tein coilovers as well. i found some tein coilovers for a 1.8 but not for a 2.8. does anyone think that the tein coilovers for the 1.8 will work ona 2.8 because maybe they make them like the h&r's where they are for both the 1.8 and the 2.8? anyone know the exact weight difference i couldnt find it anywhere. please help a broke kidd out....

 

weight diff is i believe 300 pounds in the front. not much of a diff in the back. correct me if i am wrong. also i wouldnt recommend using 1.8t shocks and springs on a 2.8. the springs wont be strong enough, and you will bounce around like crazy. just save up to get the proper parts. or find used ones. I found a set of used C/o's on audizine.com they're s4 C/o's with 20K on them for $700. aside from the fact that i haven't recieved them yet (been almost 3-4 weeks) i would recommend getting them that way. just search the classifieds.

na man thats not what im saying. im sayin the h&r coilovers are for both the 1.8 and the 2.8(same part no. so im guessing its the same part for both cars). im asking if the teins would be the same (couldnt find anything for 2.8, only for the 1.8). if the h&r's use the same for both wouldnt the teins be able to?
