Default doors not locking via remote / internal switch

Today my wife found out she cannot use the remote key for (un)locking the doors.
Same for the switch in the door.
The alarm however still works via the same remote. And it still activates the horn.
Doors can only be locked either manually, or with the key (only on drivers side).

Would there be a quick fix for this issue ? Anyone with similar problems ?

Please let us know
thks

I had the same problem. I got all my speakers changed out though the day before i noticed it. I think it had to do with the battery, since it was disconnected all day long while my speakers were being installed. I gave it two days and it started working again fine, i haven't had a problem since.

Well, fuse was OK. Everything else worked.
My wife took it to the stealership last night and this morning she heard the nice little repair would be US 715.00[&:][&:][&:].
What's wrong ? Stealership talked about the vacuum pump being faulty. Weird, on a car that's only 5 years old.

Anyone else with a similar experience ?
Thought of looking into a 1998-2000 A4 Avant (pref 2.8) to replace my own MB 190E in due time,
but these messages make me kind of crinch. (at least I know how to fix the central locking in the Benz...).

Please let me know
thks RN

Get someone with a vagcom to check the codes on the car and see if anything comes up.

If it is the vacuum pump, check prices for repair for at independent mechanics who specialize inAudi/VW

Get the car VAGGED at AUTOZONE just to see what codes do come up.
