Default Double DIN JVC DVD in dash

I'd like to install this double DIN JVC dvd player in my '03 B6 A4 (factory Bose stereo currently installed).

Would I need to buy a separate mounting kit (trim ring, etc.)? My plan is to take it to a professional installer, so I want to be prepared with all the correct parts they need to install the stereo.

Does anyone have this particular unit installed?

There is a few with them (cant remember names) but your best bet is to talk with the shop(s) and find out what it is they need to install it properly.

Some shops will rape you on the installation if you are not getting the equipment from them. They will charge you up the ars anyhow because its Bose. (some wont even touch it)

If you are taking it to a professional then let them provide the kit for it. There is nothing I hate more than having people bring me their crappy kit to install their crappy radio. Be prepared for them to have to order it, or build one. There are very few cases where an aftermarket double din radio mounts right up to factory brackets (like they use to in the old days)

What year is your car? I agree with 99A4NOW, you should take it to the place you want to install it and see what they say.

I also have the JVC flip-out touchscreen model and love it. good luck

Thanks for all the help. My car is a 2003. I will definitely take it to the professionals who will install the head unit.
