Default Drive, S, 'Manual' - 05 1.8t A4 Quattro

Question about the 3 modes... Drive, S, and the 'manual' shifter (it's an automatic but you know what I mean).

I was running it pretty hard, and going between the modes on the fly. So I'd pull out in S, then put it back into D when on the highway. Put it in manual to mess around with shifting. I was running it really hard, just to kinda see what she's capable of (just got it).

Noticed that after about an hour of driving my 3rd Gear shifted kinda funny... I wouldn't say it slipped, but something close to that. Never did that before. I then just did a test and it seems to shift into 3rd fine now. I'm hoping I didn't screw something up.

So I guess it's safe to assume messing around with the different modes isn't a good idea while driving, eh? Will doiing that cause permanent damage?
