driver information center missing a line?
I don't notice it when the car is running and the display is showing the temperature, but if I go to start the car without depressing the clutch, the background of the driver information center shows all red except for one line. The line is right around where the divider is for the 'CEL warning' and the temperature.
Is this normal? Warranty is almost up so if something is wrong, I want to know. Thanks!

If you have a bumper-bumper warrenty the have it checked out ASAP. in my B5 on really really hot days some letters are compleatly gone. on cooler days (80 degrees and less) its fine, everyone has probems with this, is yours a B5? I thought it was fixed for the B6+?
mine is a b6. i think my warranty is only 4yrs/50k so i've only got like 6k left on it. i'll ask them to check it out when i have it in on saturday.
i almost hate bringing stuff like this up because i feel like dealerships don't want to deal with it.
also, it's not very noticeable. you can really only see it when you go to start the car without the clutch pushed in and the whole screen shows a red background, except for the line that i mentioned.
in normal operation (driving), there's an orange line that goes left to right 1/3 of the way down from the top of the display. the red line that might be missing may be that line or one right above it...

I read last nite that they have to replace the whole gauge pod, somone correct me if im wrong. i know it sucks to bring that **** up, but think of it this way...its only gonna get worse so may as well do it under warrenty, youll regret it later. they prob have the car for 2 days or so at least.
yea.. i figured that might be the case. that would be ok for me. i like free new parts haha.
I'll try to take a picture of the 'problem' during lunch, and post it here. i'd appreciate feedback to let me know if it's supposed to be like that or not.
sucks if they'd have to keep the car though. i'd probably have to get a rental heh.
