Default driving for two hours and an alarm on dash

recently i went on a drive up north. first long weekend to test the new ride on the long haul. first thought damn need new suspension and rims. stock just doesnt cut it.
excuse me if i dont explain this next part properly so bare with me.
as some of you know you can push a button to set an alert when you car hits a certain km/m per hour.
on this long drive i was on i am not sure if this was set or is a part of the vehicles natural function. on your dash the part that lists how many litres/km being consumed. after two hours of straight driving the sign comes on in this part and says 2hours and stays on until i turn the car is off and cools down after the trip.i got the same message on my return back. i was unable to find any info the user manual. so...

a. what is that? warning for car or a setting left from previous owner not taken off?
b. how do i turn it off?

any thought appreciated.

thanks in advance,

It says in the owners manual how to tun the mph warning off. Press the button on the end of your windshield wiper stalk to toggle through the display to get rid of the 2:00hr thing... Not sure about that, but its in the owners manual too if you look hard enough.

For the 2 hr. warning, press the button under the right stalk.

yeah it will eventually say 4 hrs if you drive for 4 hours. Its just a trip timer. Like crazyhawk says - a click of the buttun under the right stalk will make it go away.

The first day I got my car - I drove it from Detroit (where I bought it) back to Indianapolis. The max speed warning drove me incessantly crazy cuz I had no idea how to get rid of it.

Thanks guys for the responses.

so i did as you guys stated and clicked the button under the right stalk. this action has prompted another question though.

there is setting 1 and setting 2. third option is no view at all.

what is the setting 1 and 2? and how do i customize to my desire once i know what i can set up?

thanks again.
